Eastman wanted a solution which can provide it an end-to-end view of it’s complaint handling and servicing departments.

  • Eastman was losing money due to Warranties claimed for old batteries by it’s dealers/distributors.
  • The warranty would start from the date of sales from the dealer’s point. The warranty could be claimed using dealer’s invoice and warranty card; both of which could be manipulated.
  • The batteries were not bar coded and hence couldn’t be tracked.
  • The company couldn’t track the aging of it’s stock at it’s warehouse or at distributor point.
  • The company couldn’t track the type of defects it’s batteries had and hence couldn’t improve the quality.
How did PepUpSales resolve Eastman challenges?

  • The company can now track each battery from the moment it left it’s manufacturing plant.
  • Stock aging can be determined and FIFO was forced upon warehouses to clear old stock first.
  • Service department was brought onto the platform so that each complaint could be tracked down to the component level.
  • Analysis of battery failures was possible and corrective action could be taken at the manufacturing plant.
  • Each battery was barcoded from the plant itself.
  • Sales and service were brought into a single platform. So, the warehouses will register their sales and dispatches. Warehouses will also log the complaints that they received.
  • Mobile apps provided to Distributors/Dealers to update the sales made for each battery (by scanning the barcode) to avail warranty.
  • Customers would get notification for status of the complaints they have made.
  • The complaint management at the warehouse was done on the same platform to enable view of complete lifecycle of single battery.
  • Per visit productivity increased by 85%
